If you are not already aware, 2017 marks the ! I’ve just returned from the most amazing, once in a lifetime experience, trip to Sri Lanka and will be working over the next weeks and months to help consumers and businesses to better understand Ceylon tea, its seasons for plucking year-round, and distinctive characteristics thanks to seven growing regions.
Since most members of the Tea Association of the USA’s Specialty Tea Institute are already in business, your best bet for connecting personally with Sri Lankan tea businesses would be by visiting trade shows and looking for exhibitors who are collectively a part/members of the Sri Lanka Tea Board. Short term, look for them at the World Tea Expo in Las Vegas, NV and Fancy Food Show in New York City this June, 2017. Most exhibitors will offer a taste of their teas. Don’t be shy…they all speak great English! Engage in conversation, ask questions, taste, explore, learn, and enjoy.
